La session di registrazione della colonna sonora del film Jailhouse Rock procede dalle 9 del mattino fino alle 18.25. Questa volta è Bill Black ad andarsene, quando si rende conto che, con il suo nuovo basso elettrico Fender, non riesce a fare l’introduzione di “Baby I Don’t Care”. Dopo l’uscita di Bill Black, Elvis prende il basso ed inizia lui stesso a suonare la parte. La settimana dopo Elvis incide la parte vocale sopra la traccia strumentale.
Le canzoni di oggi sono: “I Want To Be Free” “Treat Me Nice” “Baby I Don't Care” e “Don't Leave Me Now”

Bob Johnson del Press Scimitar di Memphis, in un lungo articolo scrive: “Mi piacciono Bing Crosby, Perry Como, Frank Sinatra, tutti i grandi. Devono essere bravi. Sono sempre stato piuttosto di parte per Dean Martin. Mi piacciono i Four Lads (il gruppo che aveva incontrato in ottobre, a Cleveland, durante le riprese del documentario di Bill Randle)”. Tuttavia, più di chiunque altro, lui vuole “La gente torna a casa pensando bene di me. Non voglio che la gente pensi che mi sono montato la testa, solo per il fatto che faccio qualcosa in più”.
